This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).
The purpose of this qualification is to confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required. It is intended for those who maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment). It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):
•assessments of the learner in simulated environments
•oral and written questions
•recognising prior learning.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 and above. The qualification provides an introduction to teaching and aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: Individuals not currently in a teaching or training role. Individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training). Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 3 Award in Education and Training, learners must achieve a minimum of 12 credits: 3 credits from the mandatory unit in Group A, 6 credits from Group B and 3 credits from Group C.
